Your custom document templates can be
shared with the other members of your team so that they all have access to the templates in
the New from
templates wizard. The best way to share them is by integrating them in
an extended framework (document
type) configuration and then sharing the whole framework with the other users.
Sharing Custom Document Templates
To share custom document templates with other members of your team:
- Create a custom framework by
extending an existing one, if you have not already done
so.
- Create the new document template,
if you haven't already done so.
- Save the new template in a directory (for example, called
templates) within your custom framework directory. Then open the
Document Type configuration dialog box for that
specific framework, go to the Templates tab, and click the
button in the bottom-right corner to add
your new directory to the list. It is recommended that the reference be made relative to
the framework directory (for example, ${frameworkDir}/templates).
You can also remove any existing entries in the list that aren't applicable or won't be
used in your custom framework.
- Click OK to close the configuration dialog box and then
OK or Apply to save your changes.
- All that remains is to share the entire framework with anyone who needs to have access
to the custom templates. There
are several methods for sharing frameworks and you can find details here: Sharing a Framework.
